FARM PARTNER / MANAGER WANTED

Are you ready to start farming but don’t have the land and resources to begin?   If you are willing to make a sweat equity investment, we can help you.

We are seeking a farm partner / farm manager to take over and expand our existing certified organic operation.  We grow and sell a variety of organic vegetables and herbs including potatoes, basil, lettuce, kale, arugula, tomatoes, peppers, green beans.  We also sell flower and organic vegetable seedlings.  We sell on our farm, local markets, and through an online distribution channel.

We have the land and resources but are older and want to begin phasing out of day to day farm operations. We have a 10 acre organic farm, high tunnels, irrigation, equipment, and supplies to support the farm.

Because this has mostly been a single person operation, we have never developed the full earning potential of this farm.  We are currently growing certified organic produce on less than 2 acres but have several additional acres which could be producing. Similarly our sales channels are limited to a few CSA and small markets.   We have been able to sell nearly everything we can grow.  There is great potential to grow and sell more.

We want a partner or partners who have the drive, energy, and dedication to start managing our operation and expand it.  We intend to continue to be involved but at a lower level and decreasing as time goes by.   We are open to various financial arrangements but envision an agreement whereby we cover the upfront costs (seeds, amendments, equipment, etc) but share the revenue with our partner on a sliding scale.   Our revenue share is intended to cover our costs with the majority of the additional revenue earned going to our partner. Our costs and revenue are currently low, so there is great potential for earnings.

We are very committed to organic farming and want to see our organic operation continue and expand. But we are also semi-retired and want to spend less of our time farming. We are looking for someone to take a lead role in growing our organic farm operation and in return receive most of the compensation. We mainly just want to cover our costs.

Our farm is located in Batavia, Ohio on the east side of Cincinnati near East Fork State Park.
