My husband grew up working on farms (dairy and agriculture), so he is comfortable with larger animals and the machinery. He has been recovering from an accident at work in 2019 that almost killed him, and we have used this time to raise laying hens and are interested in raising turkeys and meat chickens. We want to have completely pasture-raised birds, with our focus on maintaining a healthy small farm, not trying to make huge profits. Our living situation at the moment precludes doing more than chickens, but we want to find a farm so we can expand to raising beef cows and pigs. We have two daughters, 10 and 12.
