Certified organic farm. about 10 acres in total Terrain is generally flat with 2 ponds accounting for about 2 acres and .5 acre wooded which we use for maple syrup and an old farmhouse which we use for storage. That leaves about 7 acres of tillable land. We currently use about 1.5 acres for organic vegetable production. The rest is in hay fields. Clermont county has heavy clay soil. We have been working to improve the fertility of the 1.5 acres we are currently using for production and gradually extending to the other acreage as time and resources permit.

Additional Information

FARM PARTNER / MANAGER WANTED

Organic farming partner wanted. Great opportunity for a new or experienced farmer who would like to have their own farm but doesn’t have the land or capital to get started.

We have the land and resources but can't do it ourselves. We have a 10 acre certified organic farm, high tunnels, irrigation, and equipment to support the farm but we just don’t have the time and labor available to realize the full potential. We are currently growing certified organic produce on less than 2 acres – basically enough to allow us to cover the minimal cost of our farm. We have at least 5 additional acres and another high tunnel which could be producing. Our sales channels are limited to an online farmers markets, small markets, and a stand at our own farm because we are so busy growing we don’t have time to market through more channels and sell more.

We want a partner, not just an employee, who has the drive, energy, and dedication to play a major role in expanding our operation and becoming the farm manager. In return, you will be rewarded with the majority of the additional revenue earned. Our costs and revenue are currently low, so there is great potential for earnings.

We are very committed to organic farming and want to see our organic operation continue and expand. But we are also semi-retired and don’t want to spend all of our time farming. We are looking for someone to take a lead role in growing our organic farm operation and in return receive most of the compensation. We mainly just want to cover our costs.

Our primary products have been sun gold cherry tomatoes, yellow and red full size tomatoes, bell peppers, sweet banana peppers, poblano and hungarian hot wax peppers, potatoes, green beens, basil, and parsley.

Our farm is located in Batavia, Ohio on the east side of Cincinnati.

See us at the OEFFA Conference Heartland Farmlink on Thursday 2/13 at 5 PM.
