Co-Applicant / Partner Name:
Jeff Ramseyer /Michelle Ramseyer
Please describe your past and/or present farming experience:
Several years of experience grazing, dairy cattle, beef cattle, sheep, goats, and a little bit of experience with grazing pigs (raised on a confinement hog farm). Managed over 200 head of Grassfed Beef Cattle, sheep, and hogs in our Livestock Partnership with a Certified Organic grain farmer. Partnership dissolved one year ago, and we are currently looking for land to lease for grazing/crops, and starting our own operation. We own a few cows and a bull in our own small beef herd. Grazing is my passion, and my favorite thing to do (Jeff). I also work with Organic dairy farmers, and I’ve been the Board President of the OFGC (Ohio Forage and Grassland Council) for several years. I’ve also attended several grazing trainings, including trainings with Ian Mitchell-Innes, Allen Williams, Ray Archuleta, Gabe Brown, and many others.

Total Acres Desired:
Acres in Pasture:
No equipment or barns needed, as long as there is natural cover/protection for livestock, on the farm. We work with nature (having young born after May 15th), to allow the animals to adjust to the different weather, throughout the year. If we would have pork, or poultry, we would probably use portable shelters, that we would provide. Basically only need grass, water, and electric (to power electric fencer).
